Our Mission

Our mission is to provide high-quality support services to young people aged between 16 – 18 years who are looked after by the local authority and are transitioning into independent living. Our team of dedicated and experienced professionals creates a welcoming, responsive and supportive community for our young people, helping them to develop the skills, confidence and independence needed to thrive in adulthood. We believe in providing individualised practical and emotional support, creating a unique support plan to meet the needs of each young person.

At True Supported Living, we know how crucial a supportive and inclusive environment can be for young people. By working closely with local organisations and utilising our extensive experience, we help individuals to overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. Our passion is to give each person we care for the opportunity to thrive in the community and achieve their full potential.

We believe in identifying, planning, and delivering structured programs that provide the right level of support for each individual. Our Journey to Adulthood programme, are designed to develop independent living skills and are complemented by individualised support sessions. Our approach helps young people achieve their goals and live their best lives.

In addition, young people will be provided with a high quality, fully furnished home. This is provided alongside wider shared facilities where they can experience peer group support and structured activities. Staff are also on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to deliver onsite support and monitoring. 

We aim to:​

  • Provide young people with a nurturing, safe and comfortable environment for their personal development and growth. 

  • Promote independent living whilst providing support, guidance and encouragement to enhance the young person’s independent living skills and thrive in their journey to adulthood. 

  • Provide a supportive environment that encourages them to identify their needs, manage their emotions and develop effective coping strategies.

  • To support young people to identify their strengths and challenges, and provide the necessary support to help them reach their full potential.

  • Assist young people in developing their problem solving skills and resilience in preparation for their transition to adulthood and to identify strategies that work best for them, so they can confidently navigate this exciting journey towards adulthood and independence. 

  • Empower young people to identify problematic behaviours and develop effective strategies to manage them.

  • Provide a supportive and inclusive environment for young people that encourages growth, independence and empowerment. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling life.

Our Homes

At True Supported Living, we offer shared 24-hour supported accommodation. Our fully furnished, comfortable, safe and high quality accommodations offer an optimum setting for young people to develop their independent skills, build confidence and thrive. Additionally, we provide step-down accommodation specific to young clients transitioning to independent living. ur packages can be tailored to each individuals needs and are adaptable as their needs change. We are able to source furnished or unfurnished accommodation in areas across the region and with each individual to ensure the chosen property is appropriate to their needs and circumstances.

Personal Support

We understand that life can be unpredictable, especially for young people. That's why our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. We prioritise their safety and well-being of our young people by foreseeing and responding appropriately to any negative impacts they may encounter. We understand that negative life events can have a significant impact on their well-being. That's why our team is trained to identify and assess these events, such as bereavement, family breakdowns, exploitation, abuse, domestic violence, bullying and mental health struggles, with empathy and respect. We provide swift support to listen, observe and gain an understanding, so the young people can trust us to guide them through challenging times.

 

We understand that each person's situation is unique, which is why we offer a variety of resources and partnerships for a multi-agency response. Our services are available 24/7, so the young people can always count on us to be there for them when they need us the most. Further to this we offer a non-judgemental, non-blaming, calm and trustworthy approach.

Life Skills 

Our Journey to Independence programme can be personalised to support each individual’s needs. Our programme includes life skills, budgeting, meal planning, home management, personal hygiene, relationships, keeping yourself safe and much more. We will support young people to navigate the complexities of adult life with confidence and ease.

Modern Education Center

Education and Training

We have a range of local education providers, training facilities, and employment services that are available to the young people. We are proactive in building and maintaining relationships with Colleges and education providers staff enhance the multi-agency working as well as providing the young people with the confidence of knowing that staff are aware of their progress and available to support their learning. Education and skills development are key components of achieving independence and success in adulthood. We offer a skills training programs equipping young people with practical skills necessary for employment and independent living:

Support provided:

  • Finding an appropriate course

  • Completing the application forms

  • Preparing for interviews

  • Accompanying to interviews

  • Monitoring progress and offering on-going support

  • Tailored support for young people with learning difficulties

  • Liaising with educational partners: Schools, Colleges and Training Providers

  • Access to apprenticeships and voluntary work placements.

Our supported accommodation services are available across England, led by dedicated Registered Service Managers and supported by robust finance and administrative services.

Our local teams are experienced in supporting:

  • Young people with challenging behaviour (such as drug or alcohol misuse, a history of violence, serious and/or persistent offending and mental health needs)

  • Children leaving care (from rising 16-year-olds to post-18)

  • Vulnerable young people aged 16 to 17

  • Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (“UASC”) aged 16-17 years

  • Young people aged 18 and over with mental health needs

  • Expectant mothers and parents with children

  • Young people involved in gangs

  • Victims of child sexual exploitation
     

We also provide outreach and on-call services for young people not living in TSL Supported Accommodation homes who need additional help and support.
